Attorney GEORGE J. SAVIN, JR., is a native Californian. He graduated from Cal State University Long Beach in 1970 with a Bachelors Degree in Criminology and from WASHBURN UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF LAW in Kansas in 1973. Mr. Savin was an Assistant District Attorney in Kansas from 1973 to 1975, and moved back to California in 1975 to work as in-house corporate counsel for a major corporation. Mr. Savin went into private law practice, and was joined by his partner, Bonnie Marie Bursk in 1983. He was admitted to practice law in California and Kansas. The major area of emphasis of his practice is Workers’ Compensation and he has been a speaker at various functions for applicants’ attorneys. George Savin, Jr., also handles uninsured employer fund cases. Attorney BONNIE MARIE BURSK is a native Californian.
Ms. Bursk graduated from Cal State University, Northridge in 1973 with a bachelor degree in Political Science and a minor in Spanish, and from Southwestern University School of Law in 1976. She was an Assistant Inheritance Tax Attorney for the California State Controller, Inheritance and Gift Tax Division from 1977 to 1982, and went on to private practice in September, 1982. In November, 1983, she and her husband formed the law firm of SAVIN & BURSK. Bonnie Marie Bursk is a certified specialist by California State Bar under Probate, Trusts and Estate Planning. She is a founding member and Past President of the SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA COUNSEL OF ELDER LAW ATTORNEYS and a member of the WARNER CENTER ESTATE PLANNING COUNCIL and SAN FERNANDO VALLEY ESTATE PLANNING COUNCIL and has been a speaker with California Continuing Education of the Bar in the areas of trusts and estate planning. Bonnie Marie Bursk is also a past president of the Granada Hills Chamber of Commerce, past Chairperson of the Government Affairs Committee, and she still participates actively in the Chamber of Commerce. In addition to Workers Compensation, Probate, Trust Law, and Wills, the law firm of SAVIN & BURSK also handles personal injury, civil, and criminal law, and matters related to elder law, elder abuse, and fraud.
